Some of the key requirements of the Senior Business and Technical Manager include,
  • Responsibility for winning work and enhancing existing client relationships;
  • Identify opportunities, manage them, and deliver sound commercial and technical proposals ensuring compliance with Mott MacDonald's, Group Policies and Directives;
  • Provide technical and project management/supervision for large building projects, particularly in the pharma/nutritionals/food sectors;
  • Actively engage with multi-disciplinary teams on all project stages from preliminary design to construction, commissioning and handover to the client;
  • Monitoring project performance and ensuring corrective action is taken when required;
  • Ensure compliance with our Business Management System;
  • Promote safety, ethics, and professional excellence initiatives;
  • Drive collaboration with other parts of the Unit, Region and Group in this sector.
A bit about the team
The Built Environment Team in Northern Ireland and Ireland collaborates on a wide variety of projects in the Built Environment, Transport, Water and Advisory sectors across our three offices, in Belfast, Dublin and Cork. There are also close links with our sister offices all over the UK.
Candidate Specification : Required for the position;
  • Degree level qualification (Level 8 or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer, or equivalent membership of professional institution;
  • Extensive experience of managing successful client relationships;
  • Strong knowledge of the design and planning of built environment projects, particularly in the Pharma/Nutritionals/Food sector;
  • Demonstrated project management ability to run a large industrial project as the main point of client contact;
  • Understanding of all engineering disciplines;
  • Has previous commercial management experience with successful outcomes;
  • Effective communicator who can influence at all levels;
  • The ability to lead, collaborate, delegate, and develop others;
  • Has excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills with a strong 'can do' attitude.

Job Profile :About the business unit
The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.
