As the Net Zero Hydrogen Lead, you will join an established and innovative team of net zero advisors and consultants in Scotland, delivering an exciting portfolio of work in the public and private sectors. Your role will be rewarding and varied, and responsibilities will typically include
Provide leadership for the development of Mott MacDonald's Hydrogen capability in Scotland.
Business development and sales associated with hydrogen-related Energy projects. Includes tracking opportunities and supporting to convert these into fee-paying work.
Liaise with government and related bodies, private investors and developers.
Ability to work independently locally and within a broader global hydrogen practice as well as to form and lead teams.
Local support to global Mott MacDonald Hydrogen initiative.
Understanding and communicating 'net zero carbon' policies to clients, in support of them setting their own 'net zero carbon' aspirations and developing action plans to meet defined outcomes.
Interfacing net zero carbon advisory with wider buildings and infrastructure outcome needs, such as environmental parameters to achieve 'healthy buildings' and whole life cost effectiveness in operation
Ensuring the production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
Supporting business development related activities, identifying opportunities/prospects to allow us to prepare/position the team to produce winning proposals
Supporting the development of client relationships to provide good prospects and repeat business
Contributing to winning new work; client-facing at a senior level.

Our Net Zero Carbon Advisory Team is growing rapidly, and we are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team of energy performance and carbon management professionals. As the successful Hydrogen Lead in our Net Zero Advisory team, you will be part of the team truly living and applying our commitment to be net zero by the end of 2040 (and we are exploring options for bringing forward that date).

In addition, in 2020 we were independently certified as carbon neutral globally obtaining PAS2060, and ISO14064 accreditation for carbon reporting, both firsts in our industry.

Candidate Specification :
Ultimately, we deliver solutions, and use our restless curiosity and leading-edge skills to challenge and innovate. So, we're looking for you to demonstrate the skills, qualifications and experience listed below.
Please bear in mind that you do not need to meet 100% of these to be considered for the position.

Thorough knowledge of hydrogen (green/blue/grey) sector including policy and regulations, production technology, storage technology, transport technology and hydrogen uses.
Demonstrable experience in hydrogen projects, or able to demonstrate transferrable experience.
Qualified in a related technical subject (Minimum of a Bachelor's degree)
Chartered or approaching chartered status with a relevant professional body
Excellent communication skills and able to relate to others at all levels
A range of report writing, and visual and verbal presentation techniques
Well organised, with strong planning and management skills
Willingness and patience to provide high levels of personal support to clients
Ability to work well collaboratively, both internally and with external partners and sub-contractors and in diverse multidisciplinary teams
Good analytical skills
Sound knowledge and use of MS Office suite of software
