Initially we would be expecting you to become a Project Director in the Interim Delivery partner of our NHP (New Hospital Programme) Programme Delivery Team to lead major projects within the programme. The project director will become the NHP focal point for scheme programme delivery and will be responsible for overseeing delivery of the schemes with a focus on timely delivery and in accordance with the NHP directed scheme benefits.

A key part of the role will be to work with the programme team to develop and deliver best practice delivery models designed to deliver exceptional results through the NHS Trusts who own the delivery of these complex schemes.
You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality technical advice to support an ' in flight' project. Supporting the NHP sponsor team and the NHS Trusts in problem solving and risk mitigation. Lead from the front and build and lead high performing team to deliver major projects.
  • Establish and nurture an innovative, challenging, collaborative and high performing approach, which supports and fosters the NHP and Mott MacDonald values and culture
  • Lead by example with excellent people management skills, be team-oriented with the ability to work closely with peers and have the ability to motivate and empower individuals and teams.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across NHP , acting as an exemplar role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald internally and externally, develop strong and robust relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Be accountable for risk and technical and commercial performance on your assigned projects.
  • Work effectively with Sector/Practice Leaders to bring the right resources to deliver the project to client's satisfaction.
  • Lead account meetings with your client and seek senior level management involvement where appropriate.
  • Report management information into monthly senior leadership meetings.
  • Demonstrate visible and inspiring leadership.
  • Ensure robust technical leadership is in place to manage the quality of deliverables and to support the progression and development of colleagues.


To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates who are able to demonstrate extensive experience in a senior leadership role leading and managing major projects or programmes of work with evidence of the ability to lead and manage complex stakeholders at all levels.

You will need to be self-motivated, driven and have a strong track record of delivering significant projects and programmes, demonstrating flexibility and a wide breadth of knowledge. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to ensure success, as this role will involve high-level stakeholder engagement.

Also, significant experience in managing public facing projects and programmes subject to high levels of financial (value for money) and technical scrutiny would be highly beneficial.
