Reporting to the Lead Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), we have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join the Transport unit. You will work closely with our HR Advisor for Spain and the HRBP's who support the Highways and Intelligent Transport Systems, Integrated Transport, Metros and Civils and Rail divisions. This is a generalist HR role which will encompass employee relations (ER), absence management, change management and other operational activities which support the effective and efficient operation of the HR function.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting with ER cases such as probation extensions, performance, absence management, grievances and disciplinaries
Providing practical advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and legislation
Monitoring Vocational Health (VH) reports for the unit and review trends on a monthly basis. Work with the HRBP/people manager to ensure recommendations in VH reports are being executed
Providing monthly stats on Connected Conversations
Providing analysis on metrics related to the people business plan, the employee engagement action plan, the wellbeing action plan and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) action plan
Providing advice and guidance on secondments, transfers, cross border remote working requests and relocations and ensure a consistent approach is followed
Supporting with the design and delivery of webinars / workshops
Assisting with salary reviews and bonus reviews
Supporting the Lead HRBP with the job title rationalisation exercise
Updating the agenda for the weekly HR team meeting and record minutes of the meeting
Building stakeholder relationships with senior leadership teams within each of the divisions
Essential:
Good analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data
Pro-active approach to working autonomously and in a team
Ability to communicate routine and complex information clearly at all levels recognising the importance of attention to detail and confidentiality
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build effective, collaborative relationships with the people team and other colleagues across the business
Good organisation and prioritisation skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Ensure compliance with General Data Protections Regulations (GDPR) in accordance with legislation and best practice
Desirable:
Commercial acumen and experience within an engineering or consultancy environment
Experience with PowerBi and/or SAP
Experience in and exposure to the full employee lifecycle including ER case work with knowledge of UK legislation
Experience of non-UK HR activities and legislation
Experience of delivering initiatives and projects that have added value e.g., EDI
Associate CIPD (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this professional qualification
