Our IT & Services Transformation Project is one of Softcat's principal, strategic priorities. Centred around an Enterprise Service Management Platform implementation, the project will deliver end-to-end capability supporting both our customer-facing Managed Services business, and internal IT Operations.

As Project Manager, you will assume overall responsibility for the project, completing build, instilling governance and oversight, as well as driving delivery. You will head a multi-disciplined project team, working with partners, technical and non-technical staff, ensuring first-rate business change and IT delivery practice is at the heart of everything we do. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high profile, high value project for Softcat, with visibility and sponsorship at the highest level.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing project team structure and communication plan, aligning approach with partners
  • Reviewing all activity and existing delivery plan to update business sponsors and stakeholders up to CxO
  • Building, owning, and driving the overall project delivery plan across all workstreams – technical and non-technical
  • Overseeing partner delivery and managing performance, mitigating end-to-end delivery and risk through quality assurance and review
  • Owning project communication and business change activities working alongside project sponsors and relevant heads of department
  • Leading Project Steering Committee meetings and supporting the Head of IT Delivery around our Project Delivery Framework

What we need from you

  • Appropriate qualifications and/or experience across all aspects of Project and Programme Management
  • Significant end-to-end experience with complex largescale (>£2m) IT systems delivery transformation projects, driving business change
  • Strong people and stakeholder management up to C-suite, including Partner Management experience
  • Excellent IT literacy – knowledge of ITIL, DevOps, API Architecture, BI and Master Data Management principles
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (Scoping, Design, Development, Test and Release activities)
  • Background in MSPs or technology companies, on ITSM projects with vendors (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC or Ivanti)
