About the Role

Base Location: Aldershot, Basingstoke, Chichester, Petersfield & Portsmouth.

Salary: £26,609 - £30,472 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

As a Safety & Integrity Inspector you will have responsibility for the routine safety and integrity inspections covering all voltages associated with the Distribution Network. You will be expected to develop your knowledge of the risks associated with substation sites, the overhead network and their associated plant and equipment and escalate any urgent issues to be addressed immediately.

Whilst carrying out your tasks in a variety of conditions in all weathers, you will conduct inspections on substations and the overhead network as well as clearance activities which will include High Risk Site activities.

You will be expected to record all required information as per current processes accurately to ensure compliance and meet all regulator and legislative standards. As an ambassador for SSEN you are expected to maintain and improve proactively, exceptional customer relations with landowners and members of the public.

Other duties will include:

- Identifying damaged plant/equipment and unsafe situations and escalates to customer contact centre and manager.

- Carrying out comprehensive risk assessments.

- Communicating well with customers, resolving issues, and escalating compliments or complaints.

- Awareness of Statutory, regulatory and licence requirements including ESQCR, industry wide Code of Practice as well as engineering practices.

- Ability to deliver within challenging timescales, the ability to effectively prioritise, plan and organise and balance immediate and longer term business priorities.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Excellent planning and organisational skills.

- IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.

- Working knowledge of ESQCR requirements.

- Ability to safely access remote equipment positioned over rough ground and hillsides.

- Flexibility to work away from home.
