About The Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based one of our Central England sites.

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 dependant upon experience + car allowance + performance related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

At SSE Renewables, safety is our number one priority. It's at the heart of everything we do. Reporting to the Onshore SHW Manager, Solar & Battery, you will provide safety support to all SSE Renewables UK onshore Solar & Battery projects both in development and execution phases.

In this role you will be:

- Providing support, guidance and advice to Onshore Solar & Battery business, including; Project Managers, Development, Engineering & Acquisition/Bid team members, and project team members.

- Ensuring project compliance with all applicable safety legislation.

- Providing day to day SHW support to the development and construction projects.

- Completing due diligence exercises, SHW assessments / audits of businesses, organisations, and supply chain contractors as and when applicable.

- Reviewing SHW documentation submitted by contractors.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, we would love you to bring;

- Onshore Solar & Battery construction experience (or relevant transferrable experience), including extensive working knowledge of UK safety, health & well-being regulations, with an additional proven record of accomplishment in construction design & management procedures.

- Excellent communication skills, using Microsoft 365 applications & the natural flair for forging relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking, with the ability to address complex issues by making them simple through to a well-structured systematic approach, understand risks and implement appropriate solutions.

- A relevant Health & Safety diploma is desirable, however, if you bring NEBOSH general or construction accreditation (or equivalent) or are working towards these qualification/accreditation(s) we want to hear from you.

Travel to various sites will be required as part of this role, therefore, a full and valid driving licence is essential.
