Girls in Civil (GIC) started in the Civil Engineering and Surveying Department at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez Campus. In December 2019, we made it official with our first meeting. And after that, we have been growing to reach more people on and off our campus.

Girls in Civil is a movement that focuses on creating an empowered and diverse community of people in Civil Engineering and Construction-related careers. Our team is composed of people in different Civil Engineering industry sectors. We work on developing and sharing resources in our platforms for anybody interested in Civil Engineering and Construction-related opportunities available. Our goal is to motivate, inspire and educate people about these professions, continue breaking stereotypes and attached biases, and create a support system where people can share experiences and learn from each other.
