Job Description

About the role:

The Digital Workplace Technician (US) will be responsible for providing 1st line IT support to internal Abcam customers. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic, and detail oriented while working in a fast-paced environment. This is a Contract position, expected for at least 6 months.

This role is positioned within Abcam Digital; Digital Workplace Experience (DWX) Team. It has a solid reporting line into the Digital Workplace Experience and Support Manager (US)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides basic support for Windows PCs/laptops, printers, telephones, and other IT infrastructure
  • Maintains desktop support for internal customers and responds to IT request tickets in timely manner
  • Performs asset management activities (inventory tracking, distribution, etc.)
  • Owns the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Assists colleagues with Global Infrastructure projects and tasks where needed
  • Conducts training sessions on newly implemented technologies to educate staff when needed
  • Administers ID security card system in place to protect the office space

Qualifications

Qualifications:

You have at least 6 months experience working in an IT related role. You have strong technical troubleshooting skills with a focus around Microsoft technologies and have a basic understanding of DHCP, DNS, and VPN. You have some experience performing IT support activities, specifically within Windows operating systems and have experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite applications. You have working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and file server permissions.

You have the ability to work well in a team environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You have at least a high school diploma or GED level education. You are able to lift 50lbs and are okay with prolong stints of standing and/or sitting.
