Job Description

In an effort to optimize our channel strategy, abcam has created a new Channel Manager – Americas role to connect abcam’s offering to customers need via customer defined systems and processes. This role will act as the commercial facilitator to position abcam as a partner of choice to work with our customers to deliver their outcomes.

Working across the Americas, this role will be pivotal in driving the benefits of the sales teams day-to-day activities to drive abcam’s commercial targets. Using your commercial experience across all segments of the Life Science customer sector, you will drive connection between people and processes to deliver Abcam’s products and solutions.

Your role involves:

  • Work with Sales Team and customers to understand their needs and develop optimized buying experiences that are integrated into the customer’s buying processes and systems
  • Assist Sales Team in establishing desired purchasing processes for our customers (e.g., eProcurement, distribution, 3rd party aggregators) and coordinate with internal cross functional teams to establish and enable these channels (e.g., Marketing, Sales Enablement, Digital, Service, Legal, Finance)
  • In collaboration with Regional Sales Account Managers, drive growth within designated channels at their accounts via customer education and support post implementation
  • Liaise with eProcurement technical team and platform providers to coordinate and optimize abcam’s offering
  • Support the Director of Commercial Strategy in the development of aggregator and distributor strategy and be responsible for implementation in line with that strategy
  • Serve as the main point of contact for regional aggregators or distributors to manage relationships, lead business reviews, negotiate contracts, learn about new opportunities, and present options back to Account Managers, Sales Directors, and Director of Commercial Strategy for abcam
  • Manage pricing, marketing, training needs, and performance of any channel partners with Director of Commercial Strategy


You have a bachelors degree in Life Sciences and have commercial experience within the life science industry, including life science buying processes and platforms. You have experience collaborating with external partners on complex projects and strong project management of complex cross functional projects. You have a demonstrated commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience with the ability to influence without direct authority. You have strong communication skills and the ability to adapt and collaborate with a range of both internal and external stakeholders.
