Job Summary

Manages team responsible for developing and delivering IT solutions for the business and customers; analyzes trends in eCommerce technology and the impact of emerging technologies on the business; provides assessments and solutions to address technology and business issues; manages financial resources of the company while ensuring the development of high-quality, cost efficient technology solutions aligned with customer and business needs; establishes relationships with employees and key stakeholders (internal and external). Possesses strong organizational, project management and resource management skills with the combination of business, behavioral and technical leadership skills. Develops and implements strategic and tactical operational plans to ensure company and departmental goals are achieved; manages financial resources of the company while ensuring the development of high-quality, cost efficient technology solutions aligned with customer and business needs; establishes relationships with employees and key stakeholders (internal and external).

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages a team responsible for developing and delivering eCommerce IT solutions for the business and customers; Communicorp IT technical environment

  • Responsible for obtaining and/or developing the requisite staff skills to implement and maintain the Communicorp eCommerce environment; Act as a technical resource to IT management

  • Identify development, enhancement and maintenance priorities for eCommerce applications

  • Oversee dealings with outside vendors of eCommerce software, systems consultants and contractors

  • Develops and implements operational documents, policies, procedures and programs for training and education of new systems users and for orientation of all users to new or upgraded systems

  • Ensure assigned projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Keep abreast of technology developments that would benefit the company, stays abreast of best practices in the digital, print and merchandise industries; recommends improvements and purchases to achieve business goals

  • Performs independent review of problem situations, develops solutions, and implements action steps to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction; reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities to enhance service turnaround time, productivity, and quality; coordinates overall workflow of the department and ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of IT resources and enhance customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for oversight of external vendor partners that provide server environments for the business; manages vendor relationships to maximize value to the business; negotiates simple to moderately complex contracts; manages services provided to internal and external customers. Manages development and implementation initiatives to support business the IT and business strategy;

  • Utilizes an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices, and techniques for managing IT infrastructure; provides project management direction and supervision for project teams delivering IT infrastructure solutions; assists with development of the IT strategy with a focus on the technical infrastructure components critical to delivering IT solutions for the business and customers; communicates project goals and schedules to staff; works with the various stakeholders, such as Application Development Managers, etc., to allocate and direct resources to meet schedules

  • Provides leadership and direction for the IT technologies to include enterprise information security, server hardware, storage, and archive technologies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery; analyzes trends in technology and impact of emerging technologies on the business; provides assessments and solutions to address technology and business issues; provides enabling technologies that make it easier for customers and suppliers to do business with the enterprise as well as increase revenue and profitability

  • Participates in the budgeting and capital equipment process and quality improvement activities for the department; manages financial resources of the company while ensuring the development of high-quality, low-cost technology solutions align with customer and business needs; establishes relationships with employees and key stakeholders (internal and external); allocates resources (budget and people) and directs the development and delivery of training for internal and external IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems

  • Leads and mentors a professional staff that may include contractors and consultants at the business function level, and educates the staff in development of processes and procedures.

  • Participates in business strategic planning and decision-making at the IT division level; assists with development of the IT strategy with a focus on the eCommerce and technical infrastructure components critical to delivering IT solutions for the business and customers; analyzing new emerging technologies and translating implications of the new technology into an effective integrated IT strategy.

  • Assists IT senior management with IT budget development for areas of responsibility, including personnel and outside contractors; monitors budget versus actual and recommends appropriate action to IT senior management

  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical/business area
  • Six years relevant technical and business experience
  • Four years of managerial leadership capacity in a comparable IT environment
  • Experience with web technologies, database technologies and eCommerce systems
  • Minimum two years of experience involving technology and practices for Enterprise-level server, storage, and backup environments to include experience with Disaster Recovery solutions of open systems.
  • Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and the flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels (internally and externally)
  • Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget
