PLADS Sr Salesforce Developer

Job Summary

Responsible for day to day technical oversight of both onshore and offshore development resources. Mentoring, promoting best practices, and ensuring overall technical architecture and coding best practices are followed. The role will be split between development, resource oversight, and providing look ahead technical approaches for large scale initiatives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the development effort by providing technical oversight, participating in workshops, speaking about technical solutions, building prototypes, and taking on coding assignments

  • Translates simple to moderately complex user stories into functional and actionable software within the Salesforce environment, following Salesforce best practices

  • Collaborates on and informs cross-functional teams of new feature technical design, technical requirements, limitations, and implementation

  • Performs unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of new product functionality; analyzes and mitigates issues identified during testing

  • Actively participates in meetings with representatives from multiple business and/or IT units

  • Actively works directly with the Program Delivery Manager to ensure the delivery of project milestones and roadmap initiatives that will be worked on by the team

  • Performs other related duties as required

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree In IT or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience developing on the Salesforce platform

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred

  • 1-3 years of managing development resources
  • Work experience with the Group Insurance (Life, Absence & Disability) industry

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise with Apex classes and triggers

  • Experience with:

  • Batch Apex

  • Writing queries using SOQL and SOSL

  • Customizations on the Salesforce platform, as well as declarative tools

  • Lightning Framework

  • Data Loader

  • Attention to detail and results oriented, with a strong customer focus

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

  • Problem-solving and technical communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines

  • Salesforce Dev I Certification

  • Salesforce Admin Certification

  • Knowledge of Microservices and REST based API development

  • Knowledge of continuous integration/development tools

  • Salesforce Community Development/Configuration experience

  • Self-accountable with the ability to prioritize well and work in environments with competing and alternating priorities, with a constant focus on delivery
