Your future team
Atlassian is looking for experienced architects and principal engineers to join our Enterprise team. This role involves the design, implementation, and operations of the services to strengthen the enterprise readiness of our cloud. Be a part of a dynamic team that delivers incredible, creative improvements to our products. As part of this role you will work on Policy Platform comprised of people with backgrounds in delivering high quality products such as other architects, product managers and multiple engineering teams. We make platform for policies to accomplish unified controls framework which will Atlassian achieve multiple compliances and give our customer more controls.

What you'll do

  • Architecting, designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Work with managers to define overall team's strategic vision and architecture, such as incubation roadmap and technology solution.
  • Build MVP to demonstrate technology in action.
  • Determine how to best deploy and operationalized selected technologies at scale.
  • Work with cross functional teams to deploy solutions and bring stakeholders up to speed.
  • Create comprehensive onboarding documents and tools for onboarding internal engineering teams on policy platform.
  • Mentor more senior engineers.

Your background

  • 10+ years of experience in building software with at least 4+ years of experience in creating and implementing high throughout micro-services.
  • Designed wide-scale distributed systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • Fluency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python, Go, etc.) and in architecture patterns for distributed systems.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS with hands-on experience of one or more public cloud offerings (AWS, GAE, Oracle, Azure)
  • Experience working with cloud-scale messaging, streaming, or storage systems.
  • It's great, but not required if you have
  • Understanding of regulated industries and compliance requirements of HIPPA and FedRAMP.
  • Experience in enterprise security and identity management.
  • Experience with Open Policy Agent.
