Job Description

Avanade is looking for an experienced, Managed Security Services solution architect and pre-sales specialist, experienced with Managed Security Services within Cloud and Application Security. This is predominantly a pre-sales and service delivery focused role with the unique opportunity to help our clients solve complex and cutting edge Cloud and Application Security business challenges, and you will have the opportunity to help shape their future Cloud and Application Security services strategy.

About the role

As a member of Avanade’s Global Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, you will be working on some of the most exciting, complex and leading-edge projects. This role is a customer facing and you will play an active role in transforming our client’s approach to Security in the Cloud across both public, and hybrid cloud services. You will also have the opportunity to help to mature their security operations through designing and implementing new approaches, technologies to help clients manage and govern their cloud and application security risks.

As a Cyber Center of Excellence member you will be in a unique position within the business, where you are able to manage your time across both pre-sales, service delivery and able to make a change to the entire Avanade organisation through offering development and thought leadership. About You:

You are a thought leading Managed Security Services solution architect, interested in joining our a team who operate globally, supporting clients from across the world, with diverse cultures with complex business and security challenges that we can help resolve. To hit the ground running, your skills include:

Important note: We are agnostic on the vendors you’ve worked with; we’re looking for your skills and capabilities in this area and a proven ability to learn new technology. Ideally, you would have had experience working on the Microsoft platform, however we can provide focused training to the right candidates who can demonstrate their passion, experience and thought-leadership in the Managed Cloud and Application Security space.

Proven experience in the design of managed security services (MSS) across Cloud Security and Application Security services, including vulnerability management and supporting services, such as Penetration testing.

Proven experience of common and advanced Cloud Security capabilities, such as vulnerability management, cloud workload protection, security posture management, file integrity monitoring, endpoint detection and response services and advanced service and data encryption techniques and cloud network security.

Proven experience defining complex Managed Security Services contracts, terms, and advanced negotiation skills.

Proven experience with services development, and selling services to clients.

Proven experience of security, incident and event management solutions, their design, implementation and integration into Security Operations. Azure Sentinel experience is of particular interest.

Proven experience in designing and implementing Automated Application Security tooling into the CI/CD pipeline to perform SAST and DAST operations as part of the SSDLC.

Proven understanding of software development approaches, how they can be secured through changes in application development, security software tools and integration best practices.

Proven experience with managed security service, service delivery management, demonstrable understanding of managing Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and key performance indicators (KPIs) and experience managing and supporting clients with the day to day running of managed security operations.

As a nice to have, you will be knowledgeable and experienced with Security Operations and the evolving Security Operations MSS market. The right candidate will have the opportunity to learn these areas of MSS if they are not already experienced in these areas.

A good understanding of threat modelling, risk identification and how to mitigate the risks concerning applications, both from internal and external threat actors.

A good understanding of the Microsoft platforms across Windows, Microsoft 365 and Azure.

A good understanding of techniques and approaches used by threat actors to compromise companies.

A good understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and how it can be applied to help customers improve their cyber defense.

A good understanding of the business, privacy, security, and compliance challenges surrounding client data and able to articulate and understand the types of assets that would be seen as valuable and susceptible to attack.

With an eye to the future, you are aware of emerging technologies in the Managed Security Services space.

Compensation for roles at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Avanade provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington as set forth below and  information on benefits offered is here.  

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role

California: $170,850 – $213,000

New York: $181,050 – $213,000

Washington: $170,850 – $201,000
