Avanade’s CFM Finance Consultant is part of Corporate Functions responsible for delivering business advisory services to Avanade client teams throughout the lifecycle of a contract, as well as providing finance support for a regional business unit. CFM professionals are accountable for driving financial health and improved business results by providing analysis and advice to internal Avanade stakeholders. CFM’s primary corporate finance activities include accurate forecasting and reporting, cash flow optimization, and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

The CFM Consultant is responsible for serving as a hands-on member of our finance team, assisting in a variety of areas focused on partnering with Delivery, Sales, and other regional stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking and reporting on project and regional level financials.

Specific scope of work will include:

  • Providing strategic decision-making support, analysis, and advice to client engagement teams to maximize the profitability of engagements
  • Fostering a collaborative environment across commercial functions, account leadership, and finance organization to communicate the position of contract or account financials
  • Responsible for financial management of a regional portfolio – including budgeting & forecasting, contract/portfolio profit & loss management, and advisory services to client and corporate leadership teams
  • Executing account financial processes with emphasis compliance with US GAAP and internal policies and controls, including but not limited to revenue recognition policies
  • Guiding a small team of direct reports from across the globe, reviewing deliverables and providing regular feedback to help drive and shape their career with focus on increasing financial acumen and strengthening communication skills
  • Embracing change with agility and adaptability and focusing team on the strategic direction set by senior management
  • Coordinating with the lead to develop and prepare engagement-specific reports for client financial management over the course of the project’s life, focused on levers of engagement profitability
  • Provide commercial and financial support of new opportunity pricing during the pursuit phase


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or accounting
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience
  • Project based accounting/financial planning & analysis experience preferred
  • Good knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Detail oriented, hands-on team member ready to collaborate with the regional finance team as well cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical skills
  • Executive presence including confidence to engage with contract executives regarding financial performance and accounting matters
  • Self-starter with a curiosity to learn new processes
  • Ability to manage independent work effort as well as support junior team members in growing their skills
  • Excellent communication skills including proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of Excel and MS Windows based software packages: Word, Outlook, etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Knowledge of consulting companies
  • Knowledge of SAP Financials and US GAAP
