About the Role

The Specialist Network Operations will join our inclusive and high performing team supporting network and security solutions in a complex global enterprise network and a multi-cloud environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to work with the latest cloud technology services and be at the forefront of innovation. BHP relies upon functional, reliable, and supportable communications networks for its vital business functions. This role is focused upon liaising with technology stakeholders and Network Operations teams in improving systems, tools, processes, and reliability of Network Infrastructure across BHP.

  • Reporting to the Lead, Network Operations and predominantly supporting networking solutions across USA, Canada and South America, key accountabilities will include:
  • Responsible for improved performance across the disciplines of WAN, LAN, Security and Wireless Networks.
  • Promote a risk-based approach to the identification, assessment, and control of Network related risks.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex issues and work closely with stakeholders for resolution.
  • Provide expert input to resolve critical incidents and problems within the network.
  • Responsible for periodic review of software security and vulnerability patching on network related devices.
  • Responsible for performing annual disaster recovery / service continuity testing for Network & Unified Communications services.
  • Provide elevated technical support to Network Operations Team and drive continuous improvement by automating the workloads.

About You

The Specialist Network Operations will bring demonstrated strategic, broad management, technical expertise and leadership in and IT and OT project and operational settings. You must have the ability continually driving improvement through pro-active problem solving. Managing a large number of inputs, they will effectively prioritize high value-added/his risk issues for immediate attention

The successful candidate will be able to work within a team environment, and will possess strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset and be passionate about delivering extraordinary results with a focus on continuously improving how we get there.

The following outlines key skills and experience to succeed in this role:

  • bachelor's degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent.

  • Cisco CCNA– Associate level (Required).

  • CCNP or CCIE Network is highly desirable.

  • AWS / Azure Cloud Certification - Associate level (desirable).

  • ITIL v3.
