About the Role

This person provides technical and business expertise to integrate delivery of 5-year plan (5YP) closure priorities and leads closure directional studies on behalf of Legacy Assets.

Main Functions:

  • Lead cross-functional integration of 5YP closure priorities to focus effort and align schedules and budget across functional delivery teams in the near-term space, for a specified set of sites in a region or country for the Legacy Assets portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to build delivery models and align key performance indicators that drive closure priorities for your portfolio by leveraging skills in team-building, risk analysis, and critical path resolution with your practical experience in closure, environmental remediation, and project controls.
  • Build collaborative relationships within the Legacy Assets teams as well as other BHP teams to include our Centers of Excellence, Project Services, Finance, Risk, and PS&D.
  • Lead conceptual, directional, and funcitonal study scope refinement including gathering, evaluating, and challenging risk and opportunity analysis, resource, schedule and scope assumptions as well as alignment with closure outcomes and site priorities. Support development of related Study Initiation Requests and alignment with Project Initiaiton Approvals.
  • Support delivery of closure planning and designated closure tools (Collaborator Tool, Risk Tool) with focus on integration of near-term commitments and cross-functional closure readiness, practices, and closure outcome alignment.
  • Risk coach for assessments, deep dives, and controls development, as defined by the Legacy Assets Risk Assurance Committee fiscal year Risk Plans.

About You

  • Environmental, mining or science Degree.
  • Experience in scoping and cross-functional delivery model development to achieve closure priorities and outcomes.
