The duties of the Boiler Utility include but are not limited to the following:
Operation, troubleshooting, adjustment, repair and control of the Plant Steam Systems, Plant RO Systems and Wastewater pH Control Systems. Utilities use hand or power tools when performing tasks like replacing defective valves, filters, or steam gauges on a heating system. Operators test the boiler water, RO water and process wastewater to balance it with chemicals as needed.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs; ability to perform a range of mobility tasks such as stooping, twisting, climbing and hand assembly of items. Exposure to heat, cold, moving mechanical hazards, working with strong acids and bases, confined space entry and work from heights. Must wear steel toed/slip resistant shoes and other personal protective equipment as required.

All candidates must meet the below qualifications guidelines to apply for this position:
At least 2 years experience with steam plant equipment utilizing manual and automatic electronic controls.
Ability to test water chemistry to maintain proper chemical concentrations and perform necessary adjustments.
Must be able perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on boiler plant equipment.
Ability to read, analyze and record gauges and instruments, to maintain accurate records of operation.
Proficiency in use of a personal computer.
Ability to work in a team environment and be self motivated.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
It is a union environment so shift preference is based on seniority.
Starting salary for this role is $29.95 per hour.
