Meaningful Work From Day One
Executes complex day-to-day work assignments to deliver both results and direction on testing and analysis. Works with business partners across Brown-Forman to coordinate and implement experimentation and analytical research projects. Selects the right course of action when faced with unique and complex situations using advanced Chemistry skills and knowledge. Makes recommendations based on results, advanced knowledge of cross functional business units and business context. Trains and coaches’ others with less experience.

What You Can Expect

Works with business partners to determine appropriate testing to answer questions / solve problems.

Analyzes and interprets data.

Report’s findings and business conclusions and makes recommendations to customers.
Independently determines appropriate testing methods and procedures and investigates new technologies.

Maintains and troubleshoots analytical equipment (for both the Research lab and the plant labs).

Takes requests from internal customers; works with customers to understand projects' objectives and advises on testing methods and protocols; implements testing independently. Analyzes data and issues reports to customers; advises on next testing steps; integrates results with past data and builds project knowledge.

Works with other departments to develop processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
Independently leads and coordinates the implementation of assigned projects internal to own function.

Designs and implements pre-determined research projects; with supervision
Ensures implementation of testing generates accurate results following established procedures such as routine calibration, training, etc.

Researches and applies published testing & methods in order to meet business needs, with supervision.

Collaborates with external labs as needed.

Designs and implements a variety of non-routine tests that respond to specific product needs.

Oversees lab activities.

Supervises technicians.

We Are Looking For People Who

  • Have a Masters degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry and 3+ years’ analytical testing related experience OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry and 5+ years’ analytical testing related experience

  • Experience with GC and HPLC techniques

  • Analytical instrument troubleshooting

  • Experience in method development

  • Strong database experience

  • Good knowledge of statistics

  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Good Business perspective negotiating and influencing building partnerships
