Meaningful Work From Day One
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct leadership of 16 technicians across 3 disciplines including mechanics, electricians, and boiler operators supporting maintenance for the Brown-Forman Distillery (BFD) and the Brown-Forman Warehouse (BFW) to support the annual production of approx. 10MM proof gallons of beverage alcohol and warehousing of 350K barrels of premium bourbons. The position manages annual MRO purchases of approximately $2MM and a parts inventory of approximately 1M items. Fully utilizes CMMS to optimize productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Provides direction and support to include daily staffing, PM execution, corrective work planning, annual shutdown maintenance planning, and breakdown elimination plans. Procures, receives, and stores parts and services necessary to support the required work. Serves as a critical link between work being requested and results of work completed. Communicates status and results of work to Maintenance and Operations Managers. Maintains up-to-date CMMS and holds technicians accountable to completion and compliance standards.

What You Can Expect

Executes on daily/weekly expectations towards long term safety/environmental strategy

  • Completes LOTO audits or assigns to team
  • Delivers safety training and audits equipment inspections
  • Schedules corrective action work
  • Assists in capital development and capital project management
  • Leads daily TAMs
    Execute manpower scheduling to facilitate training and development
  • Maintain shift preferences and weekly BFDO schedule
  • Schedule and approve overtime
  • Cover for call outs and vacations, schedule contract labor as necessary
    Executes on daily sanitation initiatives
  • Audits job sites for compliance
  • Schedules repair work to prevent or eliminate quality concerns
    Execute on daily/weekly expectations towards long term maintenance strategy
  • Schedule technician workforce to support achieving maintenance metrics
  • Train technicians on CMMS and assist with streamlining access and ease of use Participate in BDA process
  • Participate in large scale CI teams and lead small scale Kaizens
  • Communicate process knowledge gaps of technician workforce
  • Work with Production PPL to develop process knowledge of operator workforce
    Execute on daily BFD and BFW maintenance needs
  • Ensure communication between operators and technicians
  • Understand and report on top drivers of maintenance repair time
    Execute on daily cost indicators
  • Escalate unscheduled/unbudgeted labor
  • Assist Receiving Room with purchasing and receiving process
  • Lead capital projects as appropriate

We Are Looking For People Who

Preferably have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) and 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment including experience supervising/managing/leading a maintenance and/or operations function OR 5 - 10 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment including experience supervising/managing/leading a maintenance and/or operations function . Experience with maintenance processes, reliability and KPI’s. Continuous improvement and or TPM experience. Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing sustainable processes through motivating and facilitating cross-functional teams.
