Scope:
Responsible for transporting grapes at harvest, and vineyard equipment at harvest and throughout the growing season. Provides logistical support of equipment movement. Operates heavy equipment. Provides skilled irrigation service to all vineyards which includes maintenance and repair.

General Description and Duties:

Operates Flatbed Truck for movement of equipment and transportation of grapes. Provides logistical equipment movement support during harvest season. Heavy equipment operator. Housekeeping of vineyard shop, and surrounding areas. Performs agriculture equipment irrigation maintenance and repair. Under limited supervision performs irrigation repair and new block development irrigation needs.

Responsibilities

  • Following applicable traffic laws
  • High focus on safety and quality requirements
  • Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it with the vehicle
  • Harvest logistics support such as moving equipment, equipment operation such as truck driver, forklift driver, grape hauling
  • Operates heavy equipment
  • Forklift driver
  • Vineyard road repair
  • Erosion control
  • All irrigation repair for all vineyards
  • Irrigation layout and installation for new blocks
  • Basic carpentry work to support vineyards
  • Perform support on the harvest loading area

Requirements

  • Must have a valid California Class A Driver License
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to prioritize schedule
  • A minimum of three years vineyard shop maintenance experience
  • Work effectively in a teamwork environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. as needed; ability to drive tractors/ ATVs to assigned vineyard and work locations; ability to operate heavy equipment. Able to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, wet, and windy. Ability to walk and perform physical work in vineyards with steep and/or uneven terrain, mud, dust, and soil. Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel and bend. Safety toe footwear required.

Basic writing and reading

Ability to understand safety signs and other regulatory and internal forms and requirements

Schedule:

Schedule varies, up to 6-days per week/10 hours a day & may require seasonal night work & extended hours during harvest.

The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
