Meaningful Work From Day OneThe Associate Scientist- Product Insights position supports Brown-Forman Global R&D projects by performing routine sensory product testing using established sensory methods under minimal supervision. The Associate Scientist- Product Insights will take sensory testing requests, implement testing, and interpret results to support internal customers with minimal supervision.
What You Can Expect
Takes sensory testing requests from internal customers and uses pre-established sensory testing methods to set up panels and conduct analysis. Analyzes and interprets sensory testing results using established methods and issues reports to internal customers with minimal supervision. Leads and coordinates testing for assigned projects internal to own function with minimal supervision. Responsible for preparation of samples and glassware for sensory testing, maintenance of sensory samples, and general upkeep of the laboratory and testing schedule. Manages a database of trained sensory panelists to ensure consistent attendance, performance, and engagement. Management includes panelist training, engagement activities, and communication.
We Are Looking For People Who
Have a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Psychology, or other related scientific discipline and 1+ years relevant laboratory experience. Strong computational and statistical skills. Database experience. Basic lab knowledge. Must be physically able to stand for extended periods and handle fragile laboratory instruments
What You Can Add To The Team
2+ years sensory experience
Experience with distilled spirits products and properties
Familiarity with discriminative and quality sensory methodologies
Experience with Compusense software
