You will be part of the Supply and Partner Data Graph team which are part of Data and AI Platform Systems organization within Expedia Group. We are responsible for building robust data pipelines to house and transform Supply and Partner data products using domain-driven architecture and streaming techniques to process substantial amounts of data at scale and speed. Supply and Partner data products form an essential input into various systems across the company including Analysts reporting, CRM tools, and Machine Learning products. You will be an active contributor in the development on new Data Products, features, and end to end Support!

What you’ll do:

    Lead architecture definition for and development of complex software engineering projects

      Advocate for quality coding and best practices

        Eliminate roadblocks

          Collaborate with business and technical teams to solve complex problems

            Mentor team members

              Present technical issues and their impact to management

                Ability to describe technical requirements and implementation details based on an understanding of business requirements

                  Have a strong eye for the operational aspects of the platform such as deployment, performance tuning and monitoring


                  Who you are:

                  • At least 3-6 years
                  of industry experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS or in a related field or equivalent related professional experience

                    3+ years developing data and software solutions

                      2+ years of experience in Java/Scala (or any JVM based ecosystems)

                        2+ years of experience in building data pipelines in the cloud with tools like S3, Hadoop, Hive; working with Petabytes of data

                          1+ years of experience in architecting complex, highly distributed, multi-sourced data pipelines and stream processing solutions using Kafka, Flink, etc.

                            Strong background in data structures, algorithms and OOP Concepts

                              Experience with automated testing, including unit, functional, and integration testing

                                Excellent organizational and cross-function collaboration skills.

                                  Self-starter that enjoys and takes pride in the development work of their team

                                    Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative and fast paced environment

                                      Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills

                                        Experience building and managing applications with AWS technologies – S3, EC2, EMR etc.

                                          Ability to tune and optimize the performance of business-critical queries and dealing with ETL job related issues

                                            Working understanding of relational databases including SQL and NoSql

                                              Experience working with various tools, processes, and languages like Airflow, Splunk, Datadog, Docker, Jenkins

                                                Experience working in agile development environment
