Director, Program Management

Are you a highly innovative and influential leader who wants to lead the Program management team for Expedia’s Fraud and Risk organization? As the Senior Program Leader, you will be responsible to execute on strategies to protect Expedia Group from fraud and abuse, ensuring it is the most trusted travel destination for our travelers, partners, suppliers, and affiliates.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex cross-functional programs for all Expedia Group brands and products

  • Influence partners and cross-functional teams to align perspectives, make decisions, enable your team members, and remove roadblocks

  • Establish effective communication with various stakeholders in the organization

  • Initiate and set goals for programs based on the organization’s strategic objectives

  • Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines, and milestones

  • Determine the operations structure for the programs, funding, staffing, and reporting

  • Thought leader for optimum organizational efficiency by taking a whole systems approach and thinking across boundaries to force simplicity

  • Provide input into various software development strategies (e.g.: unit testing, acceptance testing, continuous delivery and integration, release, and deployment for frequent and reliable release)

  • Drive the iterative development of long-term transformation program and operating plans

  • Ensure initiative goals and OKRs are aligned with objectives

  • Serve as a subject matter authority to others on new insights and solutions and provide guidance when evaluating the impacts of a solution to ensure linkages between structure, people, process, and technology

  • Inspiring and accessible as a leader, be the bar raiser for your team and create an environment where people can realize their full potential

  • Passionate about engaging and developing talent; attract, develop, engage, and retain hardworking individuals with a compelling, unifying vision that steers and motivates

  • Inspire peripheral relationships across Expedia Group

  • Mentor employees and managers to analyze and understand partner dynamics, enabling them to engage effectively

Who you are:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Engineering or any other related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 12+ years of industry experience

  • 6+ years of experience in program management leading teams, managing large portfolio, and solving complex problems

  • Experienced in leading high-performance teams to manage high risk, complex and multi-faceted projects with effective prioritization skills

  • Champion in change management and strong analytical skills

  • Expert level communication, influencing and relationship building skills with cross functional teams and senior management

  • Ability to switch gears readily and easily in response to unexpected events and circumstances

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills while constantly adapting to change

  • Natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth

  • Bias to action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast paced environment

  • Respond effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations

  • Lead mostly with questions rather than opinions, growing on the opportunity to own, innovate, create, and constantly re-evaluate

  • Comfortable making recommendations across complex and equally critical business needs

  • Simplify, clearly and succinctly convey complex information and ideas to individuals at all levels of the organization
