We are seeking an experienced, goal-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of new features and capabilities for our Trips and Packages teams.

Business Contribution/Impact: This team owns the full end-to-end domain of the guest experience and consists of web, backend, and native developers. Our product drives a critical part of all user interactions on Expedia, and we are passionate about the additional values we are building in the future!

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive technical product delivery for teams across technology stacks through every stage of the software development life cycle

  • Collaborate across UX, product management, engineering, analytics and other business partners to understand and document business requirements to design innovative technical solutions

  • Lead project management activities, including active mitigation of risks to the plan, provide status updates and development roadmaps, and manage trade-offs to drive project completion

  • Implement continuous improvements into all project processes, including defining the appropriate methodology to empower teams and track progress

  • Identify appropriate agile engineering and lean practices (e.g., Extreme Programming techniques such as pair programming and test-driven development) and coach others in applying in software development projects

  • Stay current on industry trends and serve as an expert on the software development lifecycle and agile engineering practices, coaching others when needed

  • Provide agile coaching/support for multiple workstreams

  • Lead and mentor others in agile ceremonies

  • Lead proactive identification and mitigation of issues and risks

  • Lead increasingly adaptive, ambiguous programs or highly complex technical projects

  • Strive for optimum organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and making recommendations about policies/ processes

  • Take a whole systems approach to analyze issues and implement holistic solutions by ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process and technology are made

  • Anticipate and recognize bottlenecks in work processes between teams and make suggestions for ongoing improvement

  • Lead implementation teams and ensure the successful execution of new ideas or approaches

  • Coordinate with the team to define the measures of success for process improvements

  • Develop product phase-out planning in line with the product roadmap; determine different phase milestones and priorities

  • Establish working relationships with stakeholders and build rapport to become a trusted advisor

  • Design differentiated technical communications (content focus, style, presentation, etc.) for various internal and external audiences based on an understanding of their differing levels of familiarity with technical language

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's in Analytics Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 6+ years experience running technology-related programs using agile development techniques

  • Experience as a Technical Program Manager and in a technical domain

  • Exhibits storytelling and persuasive influencing techniques that build trust with team and partners and establish long-term relationships

  • Proactively contributes to cross team collaboration and leads alignment of work with broader initiatives tailoring messaging to audience and filters relevant communication

  • Ability to bring together and turn business requirements into user stories, epics, and technical requirements and drive discussions among multiple business and technical teams to scope and schedule effort

  • Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of software development process on a technical platform

  • Experience leading Agile teams with dependencies outside of the team’s ownership

  • Experience building project plans, requirements specifications and performing data analysis

  • Guides functional peers and partners on how to use standard frameworks and methodologies

  • Contributes to events to help others develop functional knowledge and acumen, both within and across teams
