Senior Finance Analyst - Commercial Finance

We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Expedia Marketplace & Services team. This key role collaborates across all levels of the organization and will partner with the business to drive commercial discussions forward. You will operate as part of a globally distributed team that thrives in a fast-pasted environment. Additionally, this role will collaborate with technology teams to enable solid business decisions through financial insight, meaningful analysis, and reporting, and help improve financial literacy across business.
What you’ll do:
Finance business partner and develop business and technology acumen to understand and account for business evolution in financial models
Become a trusted advisor for the business teams you are supporting, help guide decisions that drive financial results
Develop understanding of licensing & maintenance/ software tools, cost structure and help with contract negotiations in partnership with procurement and business
Develop business cases, post-mortem evaluations, and identifying process gaps, exhibiting a drive for improvement
Lead the annual planning, long-term planning, and quarterly forecasting process
Own month-end close activities and maintain the accuracy of financial results via accrual management and expense tracking. Independently prepare monthly management reports, variance analyses, trend analysis, and financial review documents
Distil complex financial data into impactful commercial insights
Lead frequent ad hoc modelling, analysis, and reporting on headcount, vendor, cloud and licensing spend to support leadership and business decisions
Collaborate with members of other functional teams within the company, including: Accounting, Procurement, Corporate Finance, Product Development, Portfolio Planning, and P&L owners to evaluate cross-business projects
Drive efficiencies in the Finance organization by identifying process deficiencies, offering viable and scalable solutions, and driving cross-departmental teamwork to implement those solutions
Who you are:
Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Maths, Computer Science; or related analytical field; or equivalent related professional experience
Strong spreadsheet, data management, reporting, and financial modeling skills
Results-driven, highly motivated, and curious with a "can do" attitude and willingness to learn
Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity Ability to work effectively across teams, and build relationships with partners across an organization
Solid time management and multi-tasking abilities
Good communication and presentation skills
Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SQL, Oracle, Hyperion preferred
4+ years of relevant professional experience in FP&A or commercial finance
Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience in travel, technology, or e-commerce organization is a plus
