Senior User Experience Designer

As a Senior Designer on our XD (Experience Design) team, you will shape the evolution of our product design language — bringing experiences to life through cohesive storytelling and interaction design across all touchpoints and brands, including our consumer and partner apps, messaging, and the design system that designers and engineers use to shape them. You will be part of a core team looking at the future of our design language and experiences creating the future of travel.
We collaborate closely with product designers and partners across the organization to scale high-quality experiences across web and native platforms. As part of this team, you’ll be responsible for crafting the foundational patterns, components, documentation, tools, principles, and educational materials to empower designers and engineers to build a world-class set of experiences.
What you’ll do:
Take a hands-on approach to the development, standards, and documentation of our design language system, inclusive of identity, interaction, and design systems
Contribute to the development of our product identity system, combining strategy, interactive and brand design, creative content, and technology
Drive delivery of cohesive, end-to-end experiences, ranging from small, signature travel moments to comprehensive scales
Builds and drives compelling customer experience vision, strategy, and success metrics at program level
Define, drive, and teach exemplary visual and interaction design practice
Champion simple, elegant experiences and hold the design organization accountable to a high-quality bar
Lead collaboration with key leadership stakeholders and contribute subject matter expertise to identify which processes should be standardized and which should differ
Guide the design of components, patterns and drives optimizations for flexibility, re-use, usability, performance, brand distinction and visual appeal
Contribute to major evolutions of design system and capabilities at platform level
Develop persuasive communication materials and storytelling techniques that build trust with partners and establish long-term relationships
Model effective use of design feedback
Guide others on best practices and approaches for clear, concise, and organized communication
Consistently creates solutions that match customer needs and problems
Who you are:
Bachelor's in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience or related Design field or equivalent related professional experience is applicable
Demonstrable thought and domain leadership
Expert in Interaction/visual design, Facilitation, Prototyping
Expert in Illustration and Motion design a plus
Previous experience designing and building for iOS and Android a plus
