As a Software Development Engineer on the Communications platform team, you design and implement various components of the platform in collaboration with engineering and product teams. Your solutions will provide the ultimate customer experience needed to meet customer's needs. By now, you would have grasped writing high performance code focused on the intricacies of Email, SMS and Push.

The EG CRM team is responsible for the Customer Communications from Expedia. Our platform supports millions of travel Emails, SMS and Push notifications for multiple Expedia Group Inc. brands. We are looking for a Software Engineer who is self-starter to help build the next generation of our communication platform. What you'll do:

  • You will work with a team of developers to design and develop brand new features for the Omni-Channel Communications services

  • You will deliver business features in an agile fashion. Use your creativity, first class engineering skills and deep technical knowledge to deliver features and improvements

  • Design, build and deploy complex, scalable, highly available systems and software products

  • Implement professional software engineering practices & standard methodologies for the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

  • Effectively communicate with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs

  • Work with a modern Continuous Integration (CI/CD) environment and laying emphasis in quality practices a plus - TDD, Clean Code, Software Craftsmanship, etc

  • Have a strong eye for the operational aspects of the platform such as deployment, performance tuning and monitoring

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent related professional experience

  • Experience with designing, building and deploying complex, scalable, highly available systems and software products

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous delivery principles

  • 2+ years of email development experience combined with strong knowledge of web, mobile, and email best practices and online marketing concepts

  • Expertise in email technologies and email production including HTML and CSS

  • Must have experience working with responsive designed HTML templates and mobile development, and be able to hand-code HTML email using fluid hybrid (Spongy) coding techniques

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Figma or other graphics tools

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience desired

  • Taxi for Email experience desired

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $105,500.00 to $148,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $169,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
