Chief of Staff for SVP, Data & AI

At Expedia Group, our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere Expedia Group is seeking a Chief of Staff for the Data & AI organization in the Product & Technology Division. This position will report to the SVP of Data and AI, will be a member of the D&A leadership team, and will partner with product, engineering, and business operation.

This individual help to drive the strategy, planning and execution of initiatives for the organization. The individual will be the thought partner, drive the key initiatives that set up the organization for scale, agility, and high performance; drive consistency; bring alignment for execution and clarity of roles in the execution plans. And you will raise the bar for planning, assessment of metrics, and inspirational leadership in ways that uplift our planning processes and elevate our capability within the company.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with leaders to ensure alignment across the organization on overall strategic goals, standards, OKRs, and KPIs for each planning cycle

  • Identify gaps in efficiencies, opportunities for optimization and execute on solutions with the leadership team

  • Drive orchestration of work streams and initiatives, coordinating with product lines to ensure consistency in execution

  • Lead cross functional initiatives that sets up the organization for scale, agility and high performance

  • Manage leadership communications within the organization

  • Drive rhythm of business together with business operating teams (e.g., fireside chat, all hands, Q&A, townhall, TechOps review etc.)

  • Build & grow an engaging Data & AI community

  • Drive annual and quarterly strategic planning and resource forecast that is aligned with the strategic goals - Ensure that priority projects are appropriately resourced, driving trade off decisions occur as necessary

  • Roadshow and outbound communicate D&AI roadmaps with D&AI stakeholders across EG

  • Plan and organize strategic planning, leadership off-sites, Town Halls, and day to day priorities for the SVP of Data & AI

  • Engage with the larger Data and AI community within EG. Plan and lead the large internal gathering

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's in business management or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • MBA is a plus

  • 5 + years of experience in strategic planning and prioritization, program management and headcount management or Chief of Staff role, or related capability

  • Prior experience in analytics, data platform or ML/AI space in a technology organization is required.

  • Outstanding communication and organizing skills, both written and verbal

  • Able to engender trust; Strong team-building, analytical, collaboration, and motivation

  • Advanced abilities to “connect the dots” and very comfortable using data to speak truth to power

  • A people-oriented team-player who builds allyship across Expedia Group, has the enthusiasm and passion to engage own team and wider organization.

  • Able to work independently and take the initiative to ‘herd the cats’ and solve tough problems

  • Is a leader that drives clarity and executes on ambiguous problems

  • Extremely proactive, self-directed and takes initiative without explicit direction

  • Advanced abilities to “connect the dots” and very comfortable using data to speak truth to power

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $207,500 to $290,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $332,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $191,000 to $267,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $305,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $207,500.00 to $290,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $332,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
