User Experience Designer II

We’re looking for a motivated User Experience Designer II to help us deliver delightful customer experiences. As a Designer, you operate at the intersection of strategy, craftsmanship and design. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary design pod that includes researchers, product designers, and content designers, and your work will extend from defining the future state of our experiences to contributing standards and conventions to our platform design system. This role will be an integral part of a team of highly skilled designers that are revolutionizing intelligent customer service by powering agents to easily handle travelers’ needs, even the most complex.

What you'll do:

  • Challenge the starting definition of a problem, ask why and clarify assumptions

  • Define user experience success metrics for a project or product area

  • Build the habit of generating diverse, novel, workable concepts, and use different methods to identify areas with the most potential

  • Help coordinate partner input and collaboration efforts

  • Use design system effectively and appropriately with some mentorship

  • Create insightful materials that explain design thinking & rationale to team members and partners

  • Collect, process, and act on design feedback constructively

  • Explore solutions that are centered on user needs, wants, and problems

  • Apply user insights from research to guide design decisions

  • Learn standard methodologies in accessible design

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-computer interaction, Graphic design, interaction design, computer science, or communications or related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Shown strength in a range of UX methods to frame problems and opportunities through analysis of qualitative and quantitative insights, customer, and partner perspectives

  • Strong in one of the following core skills, and capable in two or more: Interaction/visual design, Information architecture, User research, Facilitation, Prototyping, Technical/Platform knowledge

  • UX designer with 2+ years in the field and a portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and/or mobile applications demonstrating product thinking through navigation, user flows, interaction design, and information architecture

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $105,500 to $148,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $169,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $97,000 to $135,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $155,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $105,500.00 to $148,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $169,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
