Position Overview
Leads software development of the STAR application, which is central to Aclara’s leading edge Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system for Smart Meters & Smart Grid.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads design and development of full stack data acquisition application consisting of database, system services and front end components
- Analyzes requirements for feasibility and implementation strategy. Provides estimates for same.
- Collaborates with Application and System Architects to ensure that design meets system architectural objectives. Collaborates with a distributed agile team to ensure the job gets done. Escalates issues in a timely manner and provides mitigation recommendations for same.
- Delivers high quality software on time.
- Responds to customer escalations and maintains existing code using older .NET-based technologies, refactoring as needed to provide highly reliable solutions.
- Leads development activities and monitors progress of technical objectives. Mentors others.
- Leads by example, ensuring that development standards and processes are followed across team. Performs design reviews and code reviews to ensure that software meets development standards.
- Takes initiative and works independently under minimal supervision to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works closely with cross functional team including Quality Assurance, Product Management and Documentation with a focus on team success.
- Continuously strives to make the process better through regular retrospectives and application of findings.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years’ development experience.
- Strong knowledge of full stack Microsoft technologies based on .NET, C#, SQL Server.
- Proficient understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Applications and the .NET platform in general.
- Advanced experience delivering high performance/scalable software solutions
- Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work on software with intermediate to advanced complexity.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to do whatever is needed to get the job done. Versatility to work in the business layer and other areas of the product outside the UI as needed.
- Seeks feedback from peers on source code and reviews code for others, all in the constructive spirit of building high quality software.

Preferred:
- Familiarity with real-time data acquisition solutions.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience working with C# and .NET

- Knowledge of building platform software.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps
- Experience with Agile Software Development
