Overview

Aclara Technologies, LLC has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer in Solon, OH.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical excellence in developing system designs for high volume electronic products associated with the AMI industry.
  • Develop system and product specifications, input/output interfaces and processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Participate in the development of project plans.
  • Participate in product deployment and provide assistance in resolving customer technical support issues.
  • Function as technical expert when required. Work with Marketing and Management to understand customer requirements for communication system applications.
  • Perform end-to-end system analysis and design of a complex communication system. Write system specifications capturing functionality, performance, interfaces, and data processing.
  • Support Marketing in the analysis of new systems. This could include writing analysis/simulation programs or developing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Support field installation questions using Aclara systems knowledge and specialized analysis.
  • Develop system integration test approach and methods to ensure system meets requirements.
  • Ensure designs exceed requirements of governing agencies (e.g., FCC, FM, U/L, ANSI, etc.).
  • Participate in technical reviews of the work performed by the group.

Education, Skills & Requirements

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of prior progressive experience analyzing complex systems in the AMI industry.
  • In the alternative at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience analyzing complex systems in the AMI industry.
  • Must also possess the following: at least 2 years of experience in defining complex products working with the hardware, software and system level requirements for the product; at least 3 years of work experience in the analysis and definition of complex systems;
  • At least 2 years of experience creating product specifications detailing functionality, performance, interfaces, and data processing; at least 2 years of experience working with different stakeholders (including marketing and management) to understand customer requirements for systems applications
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting marketing in the analysis of new systems, including writing analysis/simulations or developing Excel spreadsheets..
