Division Overview

Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HUS is also deeply engaged in product solutions for the Utility Communications and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) space, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HUS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HUS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas, and water industries.

HUS has four business units: Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is our electrical components and infrastructure business. Aclara is our AMI and Meters business. HGCA is our gas fitting business and Protection and Control is our newest business initiative to drive substation communications, control and protection solutions. HUS provides these solutions in the Electric Utility, Water, Gas and Communications Market.

Primary Purpose

The Pricing and Data Analytics Manager will support all HUS Strategic Business Units through the management of advanced analytics projects that drive actionable pricing insights. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating tools and processes that increase pricing effectiveness and efficiency across the organization. Effective communication and delivery of accurate and timely reporting, analysis, and strategic pricing recommendations will be critical for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pricing tools that promote continuous improvement across the entire Utility Solutions segment. Existing tools typically utilize Power BI or Excel (including VBA).
  • Mentor newer team members and promote best practices; may involve leading direct reports.
  • Establish scalable, efficient processes for large-scale data analyses.
  • Lead implementation of quotation and pricing procedure changes to improve key pricing metrics.
  • Mine and analyze large datasets to drive business and pricing insights.
  • Develop pricing models and algorithms to maximize efficiency and win rates.
  • Effectively communicate insights to facilitate improved decision quality.
  • Execute mass price adjustments in response to evolving market conditions with strict deadlines.
  • Manage the price maintenance process for new customers and new products.
  • Develop tools and processes to collect market feedback from Sales team, identify trends, and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Participate in and lead special projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or other analytically rigorous field
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience and/or experience in an equivalent analytical role with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to present results in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
  • Ability to develop reports, analyses, and recommendations utilizing inputs from multiple functional areas within the business as well as multiple sources of data
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Experience with programming languages such as a VBA, SQL, Python or R
  • High level of proficiency in database applications and relational database concepts
  • Must have the ability to consistently meet critical deadlines and deliver accurate results

Preferred

  • SAP software experience
  • Salesforce CPQ experience
