Position Overview
Coordinates activities in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Also prepares items for shipment by performing the above duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities related to the shipment and receipt of product.
- Keeps warehouse and staging area neat and orderly
- Determines the best freight method for each shipment (LTL, UPS, Truckload, etc.) considering variables such as combining multiple orders for the same customer, or customers in the same delivery area.
- Audits packaging from production to ensure shipments will be delivered in acceptable condition
- Secures packaging as appropriate through banding, shrink wrap, etc.
- Completes required transactions in the production database for outgoing and incoming shipments
- Completes and attaches the required paperwork to product being shipped
- Audits incoming shipments for quantity, damage, and delivers to area of storage/use.
- Reports on product on-time delivery
- Assists with cycle counts in area of responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
- Ability to count and weigh materials, parts and products
- Ability to use hand tools and drive forklift
- Attention to detail and accuracy
