Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and implementing inventory control procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods, transfers, and returns
  • Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and generate reports on stock levels
  • Optimize inventory storage space utilization and implement efficient inventory layout strategies
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
  • Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems, such as barcode scanning
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Continuously improve inventory control processes and propose efficiency enhancements
  • Purchase materials as needed
  • Manage and implement vending control systems

Skills and Experience

  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with different teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move inventory items as required.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and foster teamwork with others.
