We are the US Financial Services Industry (FSI) team covering Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance. We are seeking to add an experienced, motivated, and high performing individual to join us as an Industry Advisor with our Banking and Payments team to drive impact across our top FSI industry customers.

We are seeking candidates with deep experience in the financial services industry and the ability to speak with credibility to our customers’ executives. They will function as advisors to help define, prioritize, and execute transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of industry expertise coupled with cloud and technology selling experience.

Responsibilities

As a Transformation Leader, accelerate customer’s business decision making.

  • Engage with CXO’s, helping them with their own digital transformation as well as transforming their products and services to their customers.
  • Engage with business decision makers converging the line of business and technical workstreams, establishing Microsoft as the technology partner of choice.
  • Partner advocate - drive scale to our business through industry partner motions. 
  • Recognized expert in relevant local regulatory and policy environments, opening doors and removing barriers for our sales teams, partners, and customers. 

As a Sales Leader, educate and transform the industry selling motion.

  • Assist with continuing the transformation of our sales teams, to increase industry knowledge and confidence engaging with technical and business decision makers.
  • Lead with the art of the possible Industry expertise throughout our sales teams. 
  • Strengthen BDM (Business Decision Maker) relationships through Industry Priority Scenarios (IPS), market making partnerships and industry events

As a strategic partner, influence our external and internal stakeholders.

  • Engage directly with our corporate teams, to shape the future global financial services strategy, product and engineering road maps, research agendas, industry priority solutions, and customer content, across all verticals and segments.
  • Deepen engagement with select partners (joint GTM (go-to-market strategy), co-investments, engineering, and industry alignment)
  • Consistent and predictable partner execution to scale across FSI (targets for FSI, shared accountability, sponsorship)
  • Joint account planning with shared objectives and fiscal year goals
  • Continuous sharing of learning and insight within the sales organization and across other teams and headquarters 
  • Deepen our expertise on delivering Microsoft’s differentiated business value proposition for industry solutions

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience working in the financial and banking services industry
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in finance (e.g. accounting, investment finance, or related) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 3+ years experience working in the financial and banking services industry.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in sales, consulting, leadership, product marketing, product development, sales enablement, operations or related in any of the following: Banking (Retail, Investment, or Commercial), Banking Operations, Corporate or LOB technology, Professional services firm covering Banks

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience servicing the banking industry in one or more of the following capacities:  Sales, Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, Operations and/or similar functions in Fortune 500 enterprise software vendors, ISVs, professional services firms, systems integrators or related.
  • Leader in emerging technology, payments, and/or data/AI
  • Experience with regulatory agencies; including experience with third party risk management, security, and regulatory compliance
  • History of aligning client strategy and business objectives with your firm’s assets and capabilities.
  • Strong executive presence and an ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leadership
  • Experience with deploying tech with a hardworking vision for how we can change the industry in the digital age.
  • Outstanding written, verbal communication, presentation skills in front of audiences ranging from small executive meetings to very large keynote presentations
  • Self-starter with ability to multitask in the fast-paced and high-pressure work environment of a start-up paced software company
  • Strong customer orientation and results-driven leader
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to support complex problems, develop hypotheses, and present well-supported solutions
  • Hands-on leader, “get it done” operating style, and participant in industry associations
  • Experience leading digital transformation and large-scale change management efforts
  • Ability to influence across a broad spectrum of individuals and functions
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data for value based discussions
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible and innovative approach to operational management
  • Ability to engage and motivate teams
  • Media experience and social media presence
  • Ability to lead through organizational change and virtual teams
