Want to take on a role that is influential and stimulating that will see your career in the Contract Compliance business move to the next level? The Licensing Contract and Compliance team (LCC) is at the centre of managing customer and partner compliance for Microsoft’s.


Reporting to the Contract Compliance Lead, this role in the License and Contract Compliance (LCC) team based in Redmond is responsible for working with Microsoft’s partners, to ensure contractual compliance. The role also involves internal networking and influencing across Services, Sales, Finance, Legal etc. in order to achieve those goals. Working as a Broker Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and building engagement with Partners and the Services Field to ensure appropriate contractual requirements are in place to ensure Microsoft runs on Trust through their partners.


The position is influential, as the successful candidate will be responsible for this activity across all regions globally. You will have frequent contact with a wide range of internal stakeholders, and external partner organizations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promote the Broker Contract Compliance function by educating key business stakeholders with CE&S and ensuring targets are being met
  • Manage the compliance verification for all new and existing Brokers globally from initial planning to final agreement approval and publishing of approved brokers.
  • Through the Broker authorization process, you will ensure strong controls and best practices are being deployed in support of Microsoft’s business, ensuring overall compliance with Unified Broker business requirements and the Brokers contractual Terms and Conditions.
  • Operate as the internal escalation point for any exception requests and ad hoc requests from the Service Field Sellers & from the Trust & Integrity Protection team (TrIP)
  • Manage the ongoing quarterly review of existing approved brokers
  • Operate as the Business backup for the Customer Experience & Support (CE&S) Unified Support Program owner for the overall approval for new Broker Agreements through the Legal Contracting Experience portal (LCE).
  • Provide ongoing support and training for the CE&S Field Sellers, updates AnswersHub & FAQs updates as needed
  • Report to CE&S & LCC stakeholders on progress, key metrics, and open issues on a recurring basis. Work with subsidiary teams to learn and innovate from contract compliance reviews.
  • Responsible for providing CE&S with monthly and quarterly program reports. Volumes, SLAs, and Business Insights


You will work closely with the CE&S Program owner and the TrIP team and the CELA teams in certain situations.

Success is measured by meeting CE&S & LCC contract compliance targets, delivering superior partner experience, execution excellence & completeness, as well as through driving process/policy changes that improve LCC program execution.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelors and master’s degree in one of the following fields of study: Business, Finance, Communications, Information Technology.
  • 5 years min. relevant business experience in contract negotiations.
  • 5 years min. experience in IT Project Management

Preferred Qualifications:

We try not to have too many formal qualifications, since mindset and demonstrated ability are more important, but previous successful candidates have often had some or all of the following:


  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft CE&S support offers and GCS Partner Programs,
  • Knowledge Services & Microsoft sales cycles preferred.
  • Strong Influencing skills, with experience in gaining buy-in from client leadership
  • Strong communication skills: ability to deliver difficult messages with empathy and certainty
  • Influencing skills to drive resolution and secure settlement
  • Problem Solving: ability to investigate and solve complex licensing issues.
  • Strong project & program management skills. Excellent in execution and in vendor engagement
  • Experience in Account Planning, direct negotiations, and comfortable to present to CXO level

Important skills in this role are the motivation to achieve results and a strong partner focus. You can connect and build trust with client leadership through presentation and to set the appropriate tone with clients at senior levels.


Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas would be an advantage when solving complex issues encountered in the LCC role:
