The Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA) organization is seeking a Principle PM for our Base Infrastructure planning organization. This role is responsible for Managing cross functional infrastructure plans and decision process to support our rapidly scaling global data center infrastructure, focusing on base infrastructure, including land, power, and network infrastructure. This role will coordinate, analyze, plan, report, and track all base infrastructure decisions across all planning and execution functions, including supply planning, region planning, new region introduction, land, power, and network procurement. The right candidate will drive clarity and decisions on infrastructure sourcing signals by integrating with the supply planning, region master planning and execution teams, as well as, with the engineering groups as needed. The role will also drive base infrastructure pre-positioning strategy by analyzing multiple scenarios and providing recommendations based on demand, cost, scalability, risk, and fiscal budget constraints.

This role is part of a critical function that will be accountable for driving critical infrastructure decisions making sure all inputs are adequately captured and analyzed. In particular, this role will focus on:

  • Driving long term strategic decisions for land, power, and network infrastructure
  • Driving build vs. lease decisions
  • Infrastructure project portfolio prioritization decisions across land, power, network projects
  • Analysis of regional demand and supply inputs to support long term decisions
  • Coordinating and driving infrastructure decisions on a timely manner
  • Identifying data needs, collecting required data, and providing the analysis to expedite decision making
  • Coordinating with finance on financial analysis and decision alignment
  • Fiscal year capex budgeting and prioritization

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the infrastructure decision process to drive decisions on time and in alignment with our strategy
  • Drive alignment and approval of base infrastructure needs based on demand, costs, budget, and region constraints for existing and new regions
  • Manage the fiscal year capex prioritization process for land and power investments
  • Manage signal tracking systems to ensure signal accuracy
  • Define and align on long term infrastructure strategy
  • Drive close collaboration with sourcing, planning, finance, and Azure to deliver base infrastructure pre-positioning plans
  • Deliver a systematic process for managing infrastructure project portfolio with prioritization and constraint management
  • Drive close collaboration with planning and execution teams to resolve infrastructure problems
  • Perform Data analysis as required for driving infrastructure decisions
  • Serve as the interface across sourcing and planning teams to resolve cross functional issues and decisions


Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in cross functional program management, especially in a strategy, planning and decision-making environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in data and analysis required for decision making
  • 5+ years’ experience in process optimization and mapping processes to tools
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience leading and managing a business-critical function
  • BS/BA degree required;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive projects, and build buy-in and support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ year program management experience driving mission critical cross functional infrastructure projects with end to end dependencies
  • 3+ years planning cloud specific infrastructure



  • Do you have at least 5 years of cross-functional infrastructure program management experience
  • Do you have experience with cloud infrastructure projects
  • Do you have at least 5 years of process management experience
