We are seeking a thought leader in the State and Local Government and Education Industry who will inspire our customer’s digital transformation and be a trusted advisor. This role will Lead the Microsoft US Industry & Solution Sales SLGE practice, focused on driving adoption of Modern Work, Business Applications, Azure, Data, AI, and Security solutions.


Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide thought leadership and insights, trends, and challenges in the industry as the go-to person and trusted advisor for Services Executives
  • Liaise between the US State & Local Government & Education Industry team and our Global Industry Solutions lead to ensure Industry Solutions is top of mind for key plays and work with the domain teams to come up with new offers to meet demand in the field
  • Advocate for Microsoft Industry Solutions in various events/conferences and demonstrate mastery of State & Lcoal Government & Education industry and passion innovation


  • Recommend & seek agreement for Sales Plays in targeted accounts prioritized by Area leadership in Services Go-To-Market plan
  • Recommend & seek agreement to appropriate Sales Plays & Managed/Standard Offers to help sellers to grow Solution Area pipeline, for relevant accounts agreed with Sales
  • Bring insight to inform planning, especially propensity insight, local market insight and Sales Plays & Managed/Standard Offers expertise


  • Execute sales plays per the end-to-end process and plans agreed with Sales, orchestrating with appropriate stakeholders in Marketing & Operations (M&O), the Enterprise Operating Unit (EOU) & Microsoft Industry Solutions
  • Facilitate creation & communication of customer assets
  • Meet or exceed revenue & core priority targets, executing in accordance with prescribed Microsoft methods, processes, and tools


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years State & Local Government Industry sales experience including business development and sales enablement

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, business development, technical pre-sales, or related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience managing and expanding a product/solution portfolio and driving demand generation and pipeline acceleration within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization
  • Proven track record including business development and demand generation
  • Demonstrable customer focus and analytical skills
  • Ability to decipher ambiguity and become a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders and customers while leading and influencing without authority
  • Marketing and/or Sales business development background with 10+ years of technology-related experience
