Azure Hardware Health Service is looking for Software Engineer II with a track record in Cloud Service development to come help us light up innovative end-to-end solutions that powers Azure and make our world-class cloud infrastructure even better.

In the CHIE Hardware Health Service development team, you will design and implement global scalable cloud services to monitor the fleet’s hardware health and predict anomalies and pending failures. You will be an integral member of the extended team that ensures customers are not impacted by unreliable hardware and drive down TCO. You will partner with internal engineering teams and external partners to ensure highly available, fully secure, accurate and actionable results based on hardware health signals, policies, and predictive analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and operate large scale, low latency and high throughput cloud services. 
  • Work on highly complex and mission critical solutions that involve multiple Azure Services. 
  • Participate in on call coverage rotation, troubleshoot application issue and apply mitigations. 
  • Drive continuous improvement on service quality and cogs efficiency. 
  • Be part of the design of V. Next architecture for Cloud infrastructure services, focusing on strategic customer support scenarios. 
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a great teammate. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors required. MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science desired.
  • Strong design and coding skills, quick learning abilities, and confidence to ship reliable software.
  • 3+ years’ experience with services and live site.
  • 2+ years’ experience of shipping cloud services and having been through at least one development cycle.
  • Experience working in collaborative teams and cross-group efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development of cloud infrastructure services or services that have demonstrated high ratings on core fundamentals.
  • Understanding of hardware and devices, or familiarity with OS health and error reporting.
  • High tolerance to ambiguity and ability make progress when situations are in flux.

Security Requirements:   

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
