We seek a highly motivated, highly qualified Director to build solutions that empower us to protect our global player base from attacks and fraudulent activity. Desirable candidates will have strong technical and collaboration skills as well as experience leading a security program. This person will work across organizational boundaries in support of the broader organization. You will collaborate with multiple partners on security initiatives to meet Microsoft security compliance goals and bring new solutions to the company.

In this role, you will direct the security efforts for the Gaming organization while partnering with other security organizations across greater Microsoft. We’re looking for someone who is both technically excellent and a great people manager.An ideal candidate will bring experience, perspective, and security expertise from other gaming organizations or complementary industries. They will also mentor and grow the existing Xbox/Gaming Security teams.


  • Manage, lead, and grow a strong, diverse multi-disciplinary team that's focused on securing a future with billions of Xbox gamers
  • Build the vision, roadmap, along with strategic partnerships to help the Xbox team champion their mission
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends in security, including attacker techniques, emerging patterns, ecosystem mitigation efforts, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive cross functional teams implementing technology which involves multiple components, interfaces, and groups
  • Provide timely, succinct, and relevant technical guidance for business partners to act on.
  • Excellent cross group and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate the business need for security


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a security engineering domain such as infrastructure security, application security, detections, digital investigations, or operations
  • 5+ years leading/managing a function, preferably a security function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in games or technology industries
  • Experience with venture integrations or mergers/acquisitions
  • Understanding of risks associated with digital goods and experience building effective mitigations for those risks
  • Experience securing physical supply chain
  • Ability to travel 0-25%
