Senior Business Planner - New Commerce Business Planning Team

As cloud services, the consumerization of IT, and the emergence of born-in-cloud competitors continue to transform the global IT market, evolving Microsoft’s core go-to-market strategy to be cloud-centric is vital. Our modern licensing and commerce strategy will allow us to deliver new and exciting business models, introduce cloud-integrated customer experiences, and simplify how Microsoft online services are purchased and consumed through modern sales motions.

As a Senior Business Planner on the Commerce Business Strategy Team, you will have the high-visibility opportunity to work with a team chartered with leading strategic initiatives that further enable our broader business needs and increased competitiveness. You will partner closely with the engineering teams that develop the core foundation of our customer purchasing experiences, provide thought leadership on balancing business impact and time to market, and lead conversations with executives to drive alignment and decision-making. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence the acceleration of Microsoft’s licensing and go-to-market transformation with a massive impact across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build cross-org processes and guide cross org v-teams with multiple stakeholders to deliver content needed to drive business goals, with the ability to anticipate and address likely challenges on the fly.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Business Planning, Marketing, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Help design a world-class process for managing a high-volume content pipeline and driving readiness across multiple fronts including partner management, technical readiness, and marketing execution.
  • Create and deliver materials that synthesize details into an effective story and present to partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Help develop and govern a long-term roadmap leading to the transformation of Microsoft’s Commerce platform
  • Identify and develop opportunities to unlock further revenue, drive customer satisfaction, define risks, and create controls.
  • Partner to drive cross-discipline initiatives, including key issues analysis and recommendations
  • Create concise and impactful written presentations and targeted communications as required to drive new strategies and resolve underlying issues.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a highly self-directed and self-driven strategic thinker, with excellent collaboration skills and a track record of delivering exceptional results while working with a diverse set of stakeholders across organizations to deliver complex projects and proactively anticipating and addressing issues.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Corporate Strategy, Product Management and/or Business Planning
    • OR equivalent experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Corporate Strategy, Product Management and/or Business Planning.
    • or related experience AND Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • Cloud Experience
  • Ability to think strategically, to learn, understand and connect complex business models quickly.
  • A strong track record of effectively working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute initiatives with passion, precision, and excellence.
  • Experience engaging with engineering stakeholders to gain credibility and partnership quickly
  • Structured approach to problem-solving and strong project management skills with detail orientation.
  • Strong storytelling skills, proven executive presence and ability to influence at senior levels.

The salary range for this role in Colorado is from $129,800 to $194,800
