The Global Program Management (GPM) team within WBSO is hiring aBusiness Program Manager Lead to manage a team of technical data management experts. This team will be responsible for managing end-to-end operation and program management for several key data services that power the organization. This includes quota, budgets, targets, actuals, revenue, and scorecard service for WBSO. The team will partner with multiple data providers and establish quality protocols, SLA’s and OKR’s that meet or exceed business objectives. You will also partner with Incentive Plan Design Managers to share the technical implementation of strategy big best and ensure that the strategy/vision can turn into reality. As the lead for this team, you will drive the team to innovate scenarios and features for improving the health and quality of the data services you manage while partnering with our engineering teams to deliver them in a timely manner.


Your priorities:

  • Manage and develop an effective team of data stewards while developing a practice to enable the following priorities
  • Own the end-end operation and program management for the Sales Incentives data services such as quota, budgets, targets, actuals, revenue, scorecards
  • Manage the engagement with data providers and establish quality measures, OKRs, timelines and SLAs for data availability in alignment with business objectives
  • Partner with the Sales Incentives Plan Design team in review of new strategic bets – such as new incentive plans, programs, concepts and plan the implementation
  • Create requirements for innovative scenarios and features for improving the quality of the data services and partner with engineering teams for delivering them
  • Analyze data, investigate any issues raised by the stakeholders and plan resolution to maintain the quality of the data service
  • Drive prioritization across several scenarios and features and plan out delivery timelines that meet the business objectives
  • Drive communications with the WBSO leadership team for the scenarios you are accountable for
  • Drive risk management / mitigation of your scenarios as necessary
  • Partner with User Acceptance Test (UAT) leads for driving the UAT of your scenario to ensure the acceptance criteria is met
  • Partner with change management leads for driving change management of the scenario you own and ensure strong adoption
  • Drive data reconciliations every payout to ensure strong quality of the data used for paying incentives to Microsoft sellers


The ideal candidate will have strong prior experience in program management as well as a background or interest in engineering / data analysis. You will have the highest levels of leadership skills, an outstanding record of managing a broad set of stakeholders and complex cross-organizational dependencies, while continuously and relentlessly driving for results. You’ll have a deep understanding of what it takes to get work done, with and through others, in a highly matrixed environment at Microsoft. You will also need to be highly skilled in understanding how to get things done through influence and collaboration, while working with cross-functional and multi-country team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related field.
  • Working knowledge and experience with data analysis.
  • Working knowledge and experience in SQL or ADLS
  • 8+ years of experience focused on product engineering with demonstrable results in driving quality releases.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Program Management.
  • Direct or indirect management experience leading teams.
  • Experience managing and working across multiple projects, programs and business functions.

The Ideal Candidate will also have:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Databricks, Synapse, COSMOS, Excel pivot tables, Power BI or similar tools.
  • Experience successfully building relationships across the teams and with key partners (e.g. CSEO, Finance, x-WBSO, data providers, compensation metric owners and others as required).
  • Experience identifying and managing cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Ability to Identify and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Ability to Balance tactical operational issue management with longer term planning.

This role will be based out of Bellevue, WA and is expected to be 100% remote with an As Needed in office expectation.

The salary range for this role based in Colorado is from $129,800 to $194,800. At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
