The Customer Security and Trust (CST) group within Microsoft’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs organization (CELA) is a globally distributed business group of analysts, attorneys, business professionals, data scientists, engineers, and investigators responsible for some of the most exciting projects centered around protecting people online from cybercrime, malware, phishing scams, IP abuse, protecting children from technology-facilitated exploitation, and tech support fraud. Our group acts on the vision to create a safer digital experience for every person and organization on the planet which in turn, promotes trust in Microsoft. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help achieve this vision.

As part of the Strategy and Operations team within CST, you will work with engineers and business partners in an Agile environment to gather requirements and feedback from our customers on an ongoing basis to define and drive roadmaps, translate high level strategies into tactical deliverables for sprint execution, and identify areas for improvement.

The successful candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, personal integrity, accountability, and the ability to identify customers’ true underlying needs.  Be the customer advocate and problem solver by developing and articulating a roadmap to meet business objectives.  Handle challenging situations and difficult prioritization conversations with poise.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the needs of our diverse set of CST customers and become an expert on their workflows within their teams and functions.
  • Collaborate and build consensus with key customer stakeholders to align priorities and be the customer’s voice to translate their unmet needs into actionable plans.
  • Develop and own the product framing/vision memos; epics to convey the big picture and distill the vision and strategy into a product roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership in defining a clear strategic roadmap of business priorities, then work closely with our engineering teams to share customer needs, prioritize work, and translate strategic needs into tactical sprint deliverables.  
  • Drive and plan multiple priorities simultaneously, communicate status to partners, stakeholders, lawyers, investigators and CST management.
  • Collaborates to gain buy in and alignment. Solicits input from others regarding priorities and resources needed to deliver desired outcomes for multiple feature areas.
  • Identifies data-informed, short-term, and long-term investment opportunities, evaluates tradeoffs, and prioritizes investments in consultation with cross-functional partners for multiple feature areas.
  • Partner with Engineering Management and Architecture to identify and align technical skills to match future business needs.
  • Continuously track delivery trends to identify and drive actions that improve planning and sprint execution efficiencies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years' experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of direct experience working with engineering teams using agile delivery methodologies.
  • 2+ years driving strategy, creating product roadmaps or future platform vision.
  • 2+ years of experience with development and product planning tools such as, but not limited to Aha, Product Plan, Portfolio, Planning, JIRA, Azure Dev Ops.
  • US Citizenship.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present complex details in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to drive cross-group collaborative efforts on multiple priorities simultaneously within a highly matrixed environment.
  • Self-directed, attention to detail, with a demonstrated commitment to the success of others. 
  • Proven ability to derive clarity from ambiguity, balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with complex data structures into relevant information used by Data Scientists, Analysts, Investigators, and legal teams to combat cloud crime.
  • Experience with Azure technologies.
  • Data-driven execution with a passion to learn, grow and fail fast.
