In the Customer Success team we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success working with Microsoft’s strategic partners. As a Partner Cloud Solution Architect you will work with our strategic partners to enable them to achieve their customer outcomes, based on their investments in Microsoft technology. Leveraging your technical subject matter expertise you will lead technical conversations with partners to drive value from their MS investments, including identifying resolutions to issues blocking customer success projects. We are currently looking for Cloud Solution Architects - Azure Core professionals to join our teams across various business groups, for varying customer sizes, in our enterprise, regulated, and partner services organizations. By applying to this role, you will be considered for multiple opportunities within Microsoft across the United States including locations beyond where the role is posted. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home. Travel percentages will very according to role.


Customer Centricity

  • Partner Satisfaction: Drive positive Partner Satisfaction and become a trusted advisor to partners and their customers, by leveraging expertise to enable defined outcomes per defined partner business strategy. You will actively listen and respectfully challenge to drive the best outcomes​.
  • Trusted Advisor: Develop and expand existing impactful relationships; create and sustain constructive tension and trust with partner and lead the adoption of Microsoft architecture technologies.
  • Thought Leadership and Partner Insights: Lead virtual teams around technologies and partner challenges, participate in external architect community events and share learnings with internal team; demonstrate deep industry knowledge and drives recognition for Microsoft solutions. Provide feedback & insights from customers/partners back to the relevant MS teams including Product Groups, to enable continuous improvement.

Business Impact

  • Consumption (Cloud & Support) growth: Develop opportunities with partner to drive Customer Success business results by working with technical decision makers to ensure they understand Microsoft's value proposition and get value from their investment in the Microsoft technology.
  • Partner Technical Environment & Resolution of Partner Technical Blockers: Identify and evaluate industry trends, and jointly develop technical enablement plan with partner. Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends, opportunities, and competitive insights. Using technical expertise identify opportunities to develop new solutions and services for partner to take to market that drives Customer Success business results. Identify resolutions to issues blocking go-live of partner-led customer success projects by leveraging technical subject matter expertise. Lead the technical conversations with partner to drive value from their MS investments to service their customers. Deliver all work according to MS best practices & policies and using repeatable IP.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior involvement in building enterprise architectures and influencing business outcomes.
  • 1+ years of experience working with the public cloud.
  • Deep expertise in any of the following: Networking, storage, containers, virtual machines (VMs), or cloud native.
  • Architecture design: Apply design thinking methodology to construct architectures that drive value for the customer, incorporating policies, governance, and customer systems into the overall framework.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP technologies.
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization and collaborating with sales teams.
  • Experience driving architecture with either internal lines-of-business or external customers.

The salary range for this role in the state of Colorado is from $96,000 to $194,800.

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
