We are building numerous cybersecurity products & services for Enterprise & Consumer customers. Our products offer intuitive and easy-to-use UX that delight our customers. Our cloud services leverage Big Data and employ the latest advancements in AI/ML. Key product lines built by our division include world’s leading Anti-Virus, the Microsoft Defender Antivirus (AV), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) solutions, Microsoft Threat Experts and more. Our products and services are foundational drivers for Microsoft 365, and are a major growth opportunity for Microsoft.

As a Senior Software Engineer in this team, you will get an amazing opportunity to demonstrate leadership at both business and technology level. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of full-stack features/services that are scalable, highly-available, compliant, and deployed globally via CI/CD
  • Help the team in all-aspects of the engineering life-cycle including project planning, prioritization of work, and designing features
  • Support, mentor, and help engineers grow building an inclusive team environment where everyone can deliver their best work
  • Advocate for and maintain a culture of high-quality software development
  • Partner closely with our Program Management, Security Research & Data Science teams
  • Help the team meet related engineering & business goals

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer/leader designing, implementing, and shipping cloud services or software products
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed systems delivering large-scale, secure, and resilient cloud service infrastructure
  • Expertise with web or application development with full-stack (micro-service design)
  • Interface design with coding proficiency in C#/Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, or equivalent languages/frameworks
  • Good software development design, debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for mentoring junior engineers
  • Passion for and ability to quickly understand emerging technologies
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Devops models and agile methodologies
  • Experience with the Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or similar cloud platforms

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to generate clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Proven track record of strong customer advocate and creative problem solver
  • Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and create solutions across many products
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
