Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building, and operating our unified global datacenters, managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure, and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams).

The CO+I, Datacenter business is looking to fill a Regional Site Quality Manager role. The CO+I Supply Chain organization is responsible for delivering Datacenter Procurement for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year Datacenter construction projects. You will be part of the Supplier Quality team and ensure responsiveness of suppliers, reporting of issues, and execution of preventive measures at Construction sites. This role proactively ensures supplier readiness of key equipment at all phases of site level testing, engages with the construction teams, and partners with strategic supplier quality engineers to accelerate resolution of quality issues.

The candidate will be a problem solver, resourceful, and able to clearly communicate with other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Effective communication and engagement to address priority supplier quality concerns with solutions in a timely manner
  • Work with strategic supplier quality engineers and commissioning teams to assess, identify, and implement corrective actions on critical equipment at construction sites
  • Coordinate 3rd party personnel for site quality equipment validations as needed
  • Drive process improvements at site that support improved supplier readiness, quality, and operational excellence
  • Collect, review, and analyze data across project sites to proactively identify risks and quality concerns
  • Assist with the creation of new standard work processes and updates for quality inspection process optimization at site

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in Construction or Project Management
  • 3+ years experience in issue resolution involving Supplier Quality or Industrial equipment

Preferred qualifications

  • Construction, quality, or operations experience in technology or mission critical environment
  • Experience with data center operations
  • Quality, manufacturing, or operations experience in technology, mission critical environment, or EPC
  • Excellent communicator to diverse audiences across a variety of platforms
  • Strong project management/process improvement skills, effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve issues; creates actionable strategies and operational plans.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma / Kaizen / Gemba

These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
