Microsoft aspires to help our customers achieve their own digital transformation, leveraging the power of Microsoft Cloud solutions and services. To this end, Microsoft is investing in a dedicated Customer Success team that will help Microsoft customers successfully adopt Microsoft Cloud solution and services.

We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architects in the following workloads to drive high priority customer initiatives on Azure in collaboration with customers and the Microsoft field. This is a technical, customer facing role that is accountable for the end-to-end customer cloud deployment experience.


We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) specializing in Data & AI as part of the Customer Success Organization in Switzerland, contributing to Azure Adoption, Usage and Consumption in Swiss Enterprise Accounts. The CSA will very closely work with the Account Team, Sales stakeholders, Microsoft Services and Partners to drive Azure adoption for transformative Azure projects with our customers.

This role will own the Azure technical customer engagement including: lead architectural design sessions, specific cloud based implementation solutions and Proofs of Concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and success in leading deep technical architecture and application design discussions with senior customer executives to drive cloud deployments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive the deployment of customer workloads into Azure and increase their consumption of the platform by providing deployment guidance, supporting development of the customers’ cloud adoption model, and providing appropriate recommendations to overcome blockers.
  • Establish deep relationships with key IT and Business Decision Makers, who drive long-term cloud adoption within their company.
  • Identify, validate and grow opportunities to accelerate consumption in next-generation high potential customer accounts, in partnership with sales teams, by driving solution architecture for both Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.
  • Accelerate consumption in high potential customers by providing deep technical expertise and support in Data & AI topics.
  • Lead deployment of projects, creation of collateral, and training of sellers and partners in your area of specialization.
  • Keep up to date expertise in line with market trends and competitive insights.
  • Coach, advice, contribute to success of technical sellers and other colleagues to develop needed Azure technical competences.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies.
    • o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in architecting, developing cloud-based solutions for enterprise customers in one or more of the following areas: Machine Learning/AI, Databases, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Advanced Analytics, Reporting Services, Data Mining, ETL, large scale Data Migrations.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives in a consulting or technical sales/pre-sales role
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
  • Proficient in architecting data migration scenarios including hybrid and pure cloud data solutions.
  • Proven experience in leading machine learning pipelines from conception to production
  • Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams
  • Enterprise level understanding of relational database concepts such as concurrency, scalability, high availability, security, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborative. Able to work cohesively with customers, members of the Microsoft sales, services, and marketing organizations and Microsoft partners.
  • Executive Presence. Comfortable and experienced engaging with senior level executives.
  • Consultative Technical Selling and Challenger mindset. Excels in consultative technical selling approach, including bringing innovative ideas to customers problems and being customer focused.
  • Able to lead, inspire and mentor members of the Microsoft sales, services, and marketing organizations and partners. Co-ordinate peer input into WW content and demo programs resulting in high-quality published content.
  • Ability to create actionable business insights and visualization by using large data sets and leveraging Microsoft Business Intelligence capabilities, including in-depth, hands-on knowledge of warehouse architecture, analytics, reporting tools, and SQL operational expertise.
  • Experience with cloud, hybrid infrastructures, networking and adjacent technologies, architecture designs, migrations, and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in the deployment of customer workloads into Azure Data Services, or other cloud computing data warehousing and analysis platform, including hands on deployment guidance.
  • Have the ability and passion necessary to maintain technical excellence with emerging technologies, including competitive technologies, while continuing to manage customer opportunities.
  • Have a commitment to customer and partner satisfaction, including internal customers, strong listening, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to thrive in a competitive team environment.
  • Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture position within a software and/or services company (such as SalesForce, Amazon, VMware, Google, IBM, Oracle, Snowflake, Avanade, T-Systems, Wipro, CSC, HP, Infosys, ServiceNow, Dell, TCS, Rackspace, Softlayer, or other).
  • Expertise in two or more data estate workloads like Teradata, Oracle Exadata, IBM Netezza, SAP (HANA, BW), HDInsight, Hadoop, Cloudera/Hortonworks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, MapR, AWS (Redshift, Glue), Google (BigQuery), MemSQL, MarkLogic, Qubole, Pivotal (Greenplum), Actian (Avalanche), Alibaba (MaxCompute).
  • Certification in one of the following technologies: Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure AI, Azure IoT, Power BI, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Python, R
