The team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure is looking for a Senior Business Manager. The team is responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. From cloud game streaming to data services, the hardware we design is fundamentally changing the data center and contributing to the success of millions of customers.

The Senior Business Manager is a key member of the team and an extension of the leadership team. The role requires someone who has a strategic, business mindset and a bias for action; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and easily partners successfully with a wide group of stakeholders, from senior leaders to individual contributors and support staff.

You will partner across the organization, HR, administration, finance, and other teams to help us effectively and efficiently operate a complex and diverse organization.

Successful candidates should have a proven capability for business program management, organizational skills, culture and change management experience and an ability to execute in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of the rhythm of business (ROB) including business reviews, planning processes, resource management, budget forecasting, staff meetings, cross-organizational business reporting, etc. to help the business run smoothly and effectively
  • Lead and orchestrate planning and fiscal year priorities process in partnership with the leadership team
  • Drive communication of key team goals and priorities
  • Develop and lead process improvement projects that support culture initiatives such as hiring and onboarding
  • Execute business plans to ensure continuation of business operations
  • Set best practices for business operations planning and execution across the organization
  • Lead and execute org wide strategic initiatives/ change management projects
  • Partner with other stakeholders within the team and Azure organization to manage and drive special projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of business management, business operations, consulting, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience working with engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to simplify complex business and technology topics
  • Strong attention to detail, passion for strategic thinking and problem solving, and ability to deliver rich business insights to drive business decisions
  • Ability to work with a variety of people across the organization, including senior leaders, individual contributors, and support staff
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and effectively triage several competing priorities
  • Work independently to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously
