Microsoft Azure Storage is a highly distributed, massively scalable, and ubiquitously accessible cloud storage platform. We are part of the UltraDisk team working to scale our designs over the next decade to support Zettascale (storing Zettabytes of data) in Azure for our customers.

Even more exciting, we are looking to scale and grow our presence in the brand new Atlantic Yard office in the center of Midtown Atlanta, Georgia with you being our new lead and senior engineer to help grow our UltraDisk Infrastructure and Diagnostic team. Join us as we develop Front-End features and tools to help research, diagnose, and troubleshoot the backend system that drives the highest performance storage system offered on Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship internally-customer facing features of our services with a focus on front end technologies and experiences
  • Be responsible for end-to-end software life cycle from design, implementation, testing, CI, CD and to service reliability and recoverability.
  • Full engagement in agile-based software development including DRI (directly responsible individual) rotation.
  • In-depth data analysis to identify service trends and make necessary adjustments and improvements to our services and monitoring services.
  • The team’s charter is to design and implement Front-End Diagnostic tools working closely with our Back-End team designing and improving our diagnostic tools and services to provide a Diagnostic Portal to help troubleshoot, research, or monitor performance, downgrade in system responsiveness, or responding to livesite events.
  • As a Senior Team member, you will be required to build relationships across internal teams and communicate effectively to lead a team of 5+ software engineers in the Atlantic Yards team.
  • Participating in the implementation of the next wave of Diagnostic Tools for Azure Storage.
  • Providing technical and career growth mentoring for team members.
  • Conducting live-site activities and responding to customer and internally generated incidents.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience, and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of industry software engineering experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, or other Frontend language, and a modern web framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
  • 6+ years of demonstrated technical leadership in shipping high-quality cloud services and/or applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full stack web development experience with good working knowledge of both front end and back-end systems.
  • Self-driven, can work independently, but also flexible with agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Proficient work experience with front-end technologies specializing in the latest Angular technology and web stack.
  • Prior work experience with server-side development. C# or C++ experience is preferred.
  • Passion for quality and building scalable solutions.
  • Team Player with Outstanding communication skills and collaboration capabilities.
  • Self-learner with passion for new technology.
  • Experience developing backend cloud services.
